UpLife is a nonprofit helping homeless shelters meet the rising demand of homelessness and working toward ending poverty in our community. Our core work is simple and steady: making and donating sandwiches to shelters every week, while growing our reach through more awareness, more members, and more funding.
Our story
UpLife began as part of a founder's journey through the NSF Youth Changemakers program — a project to look closely at problems in our own community. That process surfaced a clear pattern: homelessness, everywhere. Two friends decided to do something about it, built around one idea — we already have the resources we need to survive, so why shouldn't everyone else have access to them too.
How we're organized
Every member joins one of three departments — Social Media, Fundraising, or Outreach — and every sandwich, dollar, and volunteer hour is tracked through the same place: the UpLife Member Portal.

What is the Member Portal?
The Member Portal is where official UpLife members and admins manage everything day-to-day — volunteer hour submissions, department assignments, and account approvals. It's not open to the public: access is limited to members and admins whose accounts have been approved. If you'd like to become a member, applications open through the "Apply Now" button in the Departments section above.
